He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Harm and Lois Caroline Post (Christoffer); his siblings, Marlyn Post and Jeffry Post; his parents-in-law, Edward and Winona Droll; and his brother-in-law Dennis Droll.

He is survived by: his wife Arlys Post of Worthington; his sons, Troy Post (Gwen) of Brewster and Eric Post (Barbara) of Lakefield; his grandchildren, Erika Spampinato (Mike), Jacob Post (Mandy), Alyssa Post (Connor Hansen), Nathaniel Post and Taylor Post (Austin Doorenbos); his great grandchildren, Maeve Post and Everett Spampinato; his brother Gregory Post (Jackie) of Lakefield; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Jansen (Wayne), Sherri Glaser (Brad) and Joanne Post. He is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations in memory of David are preferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
