Joann Rosemary (Bird) Atkinson Obituary

We announce the death of Joann Rosemary (Bird) Atkinson of Zumbrota, Minnesota, who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 89. Joann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert and Hazel; her brothers, Jim, Pete, John and Bob; her son Brett Hamblin; and her husband Richard Atkinson.

She is survived by: her children, Michael, Nathan Hamblin and Laurie Hamblin; her daughter-in-law Corrie Hamblin (Brett); her stepdaughter Rita Rozea; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Elizabeth Hall, Alex Hamblin (Ayshlan), Hollie Wood (Brady), Ethan Hamblin and Gretchen Purvis (Garrett); and her great grandchildren, Alex Garrison, Jasper, Milo, Wells, Posie Woods and Chloe Hamblin.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Larson Chapel (1475 Jefferson Dr, Zumbrota, MN 55992).
