Michael leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Michael’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was predeceased by: his father John D. McLeary; his sister Pauline Crays; his stepfather Horace Vanmatre; and his stepbrother Eddie VanMatre. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Sue James; his son Malcolm; his daughter-in-law Wendi; his grandchildren, Marty and Holly; his mother Norma Lou VanMatre; his brother Johnny; and his sister-in-law Linda.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McGee New Hope Cemetery.
