It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis Schmalz of Alma, Missouri, who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schmalz and Agnes Schmalz (Bezko); and his brothers, Richard Schmalz and Butch Schmalz. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Schmalz (Corder); his children, Ezekiel Schmalz of Alma, MO, Thomas Schmalz of Alma, Sara Schmalz of Columbia, MO, Katrina Hyde (Josh) of Wheeling, WV and Aimee Schmalz of Wheeling, WV; his sister Ruth Ann Schmalz; and his grandchildren, Lucus Schmalz, Arbor and Irie Hyde.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home, Inc. (1600 N Main St, Higginsville, MO 64037). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:20 PM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (20109 MO-13 BUS, Higginsville, MO 64037).
