He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Prather and Genevieve (Gennie). He is survived by: his significant other Donnis Prather; his brother Steven Prather (Renea); and his aunt Shirley George. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Donnis & Greg Prather Scholarship Fund or United Methodist Church in Waverly in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
