Mel left this world on September 6, 2025 at the age of 71, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Dale and Mebyl Privett (Hames); and his brother James W. Privett (Vicki). He is survived by: his children, Melvin Privett (Kimberly) of Pomona, MO, Ashlee White (Privett) of Mountain View, MO and Zach Roberts (Christy) of Alton, MO; his stepson Christopher Roberts (family: Kimberly Carney); his grandchildren, Jennifer LeAnn Asbury (James), Jacob Matthew, Chase Rodney, Bentley Raymond, Ezekiel Draven Shaw, Alexa Kai Josquin White, Aliyah Kai Josquin White, Jace Benjamin, Cedar James and Kai Aleksander; and his great grandchildren, Samuel Brian, Blakey Royal, Olivia Joyce, Avalyn Marie, James Allen, Jaydon Wayne and Jace Mathew. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Clary Funeral Home (102 Vine St, Alton, MO 65606). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
