He was predeceased by: his father Theale Burks; his brother Prentiss Burks; his stepfather Jim Compton; and his close friend Ruth Anderson. He is survived by: his mother Lottie Compton; his siblings, Eugene Burks (Brenda) and Eleena Bugg (David); his son Michael Burks (Andrea); his friend Carol Shannon; and his grandmother Cathy. He is also survived by three granddaughters; and eight nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
