We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2020, at the age of 82, Eugene Herbert Wirsig (Appleton City, Missouri) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Leo Herbert and Mattie Wirsig (Tally); and his brother Lyle Wirsig. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Ann McElroy; his children, David Wirsig, Kim Krueger (Paul), Christopher Wirsig (Tammy) and Karen Iszard; his grandchildren, Brandon, Logan (Brittany), Rebecca, Nikita, Christian, Brianna, Anna, Charles, Travis, Caleb, Pamelia and Josh; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Gracie and Ellie; his sisters, Mina Dell Lacy, Ruth Roth and Dixie Atchison (Gerald); his daughter-in-law Pam Straw; and his granddaughter-in-law Megan.

The family suggests MEMORIAL donations be made to Holy Rosary School.

Brent M McElroy wrote a sympathy message

“In loving memory of Eugene Herbert Wirsig, You will be sorely missed. The first trip to the Mo State Fair was with Uncle Gene and Aunt Barbara Anne. We showed dairy calves at the Clinton Fair grounds. As little kids he taught us to be respectful and kind. He would line us out if we got out of hand. He taught all of us to work hard. I know he did because if he sat down for five minutes he would take a nap. Lol .Everytime I see a G John Deere I think of Uncle Gene. So many memories.”
