As we bid adieu to Kathy's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Kathy has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Hester and Lela Hester (Wilson); and her husband Jay. She is survived by: her sons, Everett Michael Dains (Linda) of Columbia, MO and Stephen Bert Dains (Kathy) of Pleasant Hill, MO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hill & Son Funeral Home (213 W 6th St, Appleton City, MO 64724). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Osceola Cemetery.
The family suggests any memorial donations be made to the St. Clair County Historical Society and may be left at Hill & Son Funeral Home.
