She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ball and Cora Ellis Ball; her husband Lanson Blake Melvin; her children, Gary Dempsey, Danny Dempsey, Linda Perkins and Mary Elizabeth Melvin; her grandsons, David Dempsey and Bradley Rece; her great grandchild Hannah Kelems; and her siblings, Clyde Ball, Jerry Ball, Joe Ball, Pauline Rickman and Betty Preston.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Dempsey of Arbyrd, Larry Dempsey of Southaven, Ed Dempsey of Leachville, Caroline Rece of Leachville, Patricia Cloninger of Leachville and Margaret Cloud of Monette Maxine. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel (201 E 3rd St, Leachville, AR 72438). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
