She was predeceased by: her parents, Hosea Edgar and Violet Samantha Vance (Upton); her spouse Welden Albert Townsend (Bert); her children, Beverly Christopher, Donna Marler and Donald Marler, II; her stepson James Albert Townsend; and her siblings, Howard Vance (Wilma), George Vance (Virginia), Hosea Vance (Louise), Lawrence Vance, George William Vance and Wanda Violet Vance.

She is survived by: her stepdaughter Elizabeth "Lisa" Sage (Norman) of Georgia; her daughter-in-law Tessie Marler of Moyock; and her niece Dorothy Savage. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
