He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elizabeth "Libby" Gurnow (Hedges); his pet Luna Belle; his parents, Gregory and Sheri Gurnow (Schmeisser); his grandparents, Don, Peggy Schmeisser, Ron and Sandra Gurnow; his uncles, Craig Schmeisser (Angela) and Jeffrey Gurnow; his cousins, Megan, Ryan Schmeisser, Katie and Courtney Gurnow; his parents-in-law, John and Laura Hedges (Joest); his siblings-in-law, Melissa Baker (Terry), Tiffaney Medicis (Joey) and Brandon Hedges; his cousins, Evan and Kyle Gurnow; his grandfather Ray Joest; and his sister-in-law Shana Hedges. He was also cherished by friends, and co-workers.
