He is survived by: his mother Mary Scherder (Gary); his siblings, Martin Scherder and Dawn Wells; his children, Joshua Sunn Wells, Nicholas Collins Wells and Alexis Lynn Wells; his aunts and uncles, Carol Sunn Deters, Randy, Cheryl Wells, Jerry Wells and Emily Lankau (Earl); and his cousins, Nicole Hayden (Adam), Lindy Ankelman (Caleb), Jonelle Wacker (Adam), Ryan Wells (Victoria), Carrie Hooper (JW), Paul Wells, Zakiya, Layla, Sierra Wells, Beverly Ard (Nate), Gabriel Hooper, Bristol, Keelan and Leighton Ankelman.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hoffmeister South County Chapel (1515 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (1515 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Doug's life and legacy may be made to the family to entrust to his children.
