He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Balajka and Anna Balajka; his wives, Ernestine Balajka and June Koenig-Balajka; and his stepdaughter Kathryn Koenig.

He is survived by: his daughters, Barb Tucker (Gary) and Brenda Balajka (Audie Smith); his stepchildren, Irene Miller (Tony), Peggy Koenig, Jack Koenig, Kurt W. Koenig and Judy Bolhofner (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Jason P. Muehlheausler, Jessica L. Becker, Justin E. Muehlheausler, Emily E. Tucker and Nina K. Tucker.
