With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry Lee Sumners Sr. of Aurora, Missouri, who passed away on September 28, 2023 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jerry Lee Sumners Sr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Sumners and Virginia Sumners (Feaster); his sister Carla Gay Sumners; his brother-in-law Tim Michel; and his nephew Jason Sumners.

He is survived by: his former wife Alma; his daughter Sandy; his wife Sharon Kloster; his children, Jerry Jr. (Toni) of Verona, Talbet (Tonyha) of Aurora, Tyler (Lesley) of Republic, Toby of Aurora, Sandra Lee Butler (Steve) of Englewood and Tisha Trotter (Don) of Mt Vernon; his siblings, Roger Sumners (Winnie) of Carthage, Linda Johnson (Dale) of Marionville and Rita Michel of Springfield; and his caregiver Jerry. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Jerry, who bravely battled Parkinson's and bladder cancer, retired from his office duties in 2017. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a no kill shelter or the Humane Society in Jerry's memory.
