John Medlin Obituary
John William Medlin, 73, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017, at his residence in Aurora, Missouri. John attended Aurora High School. After graduating he went on to Drury College to study Business Administration. He worked for several years as an automobile salesman at the Chevrolet dealership in Aurora and various other dealerships.
He drove a school bus for Aurora School District and a van for OATS Transportation. John began his early ministry in tent revivals. He planted and pastored many churches in the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God. John married the love of his life Ila Carol (Ford) Medlin in 1963. To this union were born two children, Timothy Medlin and Thomas Medlin.
John's parents, Dale and Ruby; and one brother Omar preceded John in death. John is survived by his wife Carol, of the home; son Timothy Medlin and wife Denise of Boise ID; son Rev. Thomas Medlin and wife Heather, one granddaughter Bethany Medlin of California, MO; Sister in law Jackie Medlin of Aurora MO; three nephews Glen, Danny and John of Aurora.
He enjoyed reading, playing the guitar and fiddle. He looked forward to preaching the Word. His greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter and family. John will be really missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial service will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God Church at 211 E. Walnut Street, Aurora, MO.
