He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Hoover and Helen Hoover (Blackburn); his son Dennis Hoover; and his siblings, Richard Hoover, Linda Fox and Rhonda Rogers.
He is survived by: his sister Elizabeth "Fizz" Hoover; his brother-in-law Roy Fox; and his grandson Christopher Hoover. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
