She was predeceased by: her parents, Olive Hammond Purdy and Joe Purdy; and her siblings, Virginia Zellmer (Ted) and Bill Purdy. She is survived by: her husband David; her son Kevin C. Anderson (Michelle); her stepchildren, Cindy Groves (Jon) and Jason Norman (Michelle); her grandchildren, Logan Anderson, Macie Norman, Sunny, Jenna and Nathan Groves; her sister-in-law Betty Purdy; and her sibling's children, Paul, Donald, Glenn, Peggy Heid (Brent) and Vicky Hartzler (Lowell).

Donations in her honor may be made to Ava Methodist Church or the Dorothy Norman Chapter of National Honor Society for R-1 Schools.
