Woods Sr. of Ava, Missouri, born in Independence, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 14, 2025 at the age of 97. He was predeceased by: his wife Ione; his siblings, Alice Boten and Richard Woods; and his children-in-law, Kenneth James Smith and Linda Woods.
He is survived by: his children, Rolland L. Woods, Jr. and Sharon Smith; his grandchildren, Dan, Melissa Smith, Aaron Woods, Chris, Kristi Smith, Wes and Karen Smith; and his great grandchildren, Serena, James, Carena, Kailey, Hondro and AJ. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Southern Baptist Church (714 Johnson Ave, Ava, MO 65608). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Hills Calvary Cemetery (6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131).
