He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Taylor and Evelyn Spooner; his stepfather Harvey Spooner; his former wife Sandra Caringer Taylor; his siblings, Thomas Taylor (Jackie), David Taylor, Debra Spooner and Diana Spooner; his son-in-law Steven Downey; and his brother-in-law Kevin Rich.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rich Taylor; his children, Lynette Downey, Wendy Matzker (Donald) and Christopher Taylor (Leza Shorts); his grandchildren, Christopher Parsons (Tara), Jarred Matzker (Alexandria), Seth Matzker and Caleb Matzker; his siblings, Janet Thomason (Mike), Lynda Baker (Andy), Paul Taylor, Carolyn Rosenbaum (David) and Joseph Spooner; and his siblings-in-law, Collin Rich (Penny), Kathleen Hawkins and Joanne Wofford (Greg). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Family Center at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory (14960 Manchester Rd, Ballwin, MO 63011). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
