We bid farewell to Elaine M. (Martinez) Smith (Ballwin, Missouri), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 18, 2026 at the age of 74. Elaine touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Vernon C. Smith; her children, Rebecca Yust (Kris) and Lindsey Wood (Adam); her grandchildren, Lainey, Abigail, Vincent and Cecilia; her brothers, Raymond Martinez (Tricia), Ron Martinez (Karen) and Leo Martinez; her nephews, Maxwell, Mitchell and Jacob; her niece Madeline; and her sister-in-law Tracy Pohl.

In lieu of flowers, Elaine requested donations may be made to charities that are very dear to her, Places for People (https://www.placesforpeople.org) (a St. Louis nonprofit providing recovery-based mental health and substance use treatment) or Angels' Arms (a local organization supporting foster families and keeping sibling groups together in loving homes).
