He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mary Lou Kanne; his children, Deborah Billing (Donald), David Kanne (Elizabeth) and Stephen Kanne (Kourtney); his grandchildren, Sarah Hart, Jonathan Billing (Lindsey), Alyson Kanne, Andrew Kanne (Katherine), Caroline Kanne, Jessica Atkins (Ethan), Nicholas Kanne, Kael Christopher and Kade Christopher; his great grandchildren, Adriana, Aiden (Abigail), Calvin, Amelia, Frances, Augustine and Jo; his great great grandchild Luella; and his parents, Charles Kanne and Mildred Kanne. He was also cherished by one of five sons and like his father and brothers.
