It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cary Jene Franklin of Bates City, Missouri, who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil R. Franklin and Edith Franklin (Woods); and his brothers, Cecil Franklin, Gary Franklin and Larry Franklin.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Franklin of Bates City, MO; his children, Brian Franklin of Kansas City, MO and Tammy Smith (Skip) of Bates City, MO; his grandchildren, Katelynn Pahopin (Zach) of Grain Valley, MO, Crayton Smith (Alexis) of Lee's Summit, MO, Olivia and Maya; and his great grandchildren, Lucy Pahopin and Evelynn Pahopin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Odessa Church of Christ (210 N 4th St, Odessa, MO 64076). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Phillips Family Cemetery.
