He is survived by: his wife Bernadette Pennington; his children, Stephen Pennington Jr. (Lacey) of Union, MO, Christine Barclay (Charles) of Bourbon, MO, Sean Pennington (Madison) of Union, MO and Megan Eggert (Anthony) of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; his grandchildren, Jocelyn Pennington, Grayson Pennington, Avalyn Pennington, Lydia Pennington, Julia Barclay, Evelyn Barclay, Ian Barclay, Henry Barclay, Della Barclay and Charlotte Pennington; and his siblings, Diane Stepp, Thomas Pennington Jr. (Beverly) of Union, MO, James "Dale" Pennington and Douglas Pennington (Peggy) of Union, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, St. John Lutheran Cemetery or Christ the King High School.
