Shirley left this world on February 28, 2026 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Susannah Copenhower Parsons and Grover Cleveland Parsons; her daughter Kathy Basham; her siblings, Lester, Russell, Gene, Craig, Max, Madeline and Bernadine Parsons; her daughter Becky; and her grandchildren, Heather, Dana Jr. and Noah.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph "Pete" Mitchell; and her daughters, Rebecca Hart, Nancy Dawson, Deborah McAtee, Theresa Woolley, Pamela Champlain and Sandra Mitchell. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ Belle Restoration Branch (35024 Hwy Ee, Belle, MO 65013). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the Skaggs Chapel Cemetery.
