Janet Marie Gibbons Obituary

Janet Marie Gibbons passed away on July 29, 2025 at Belleview Valley Nursing Center at the age of 64 years. She was born February 6, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Jack and Zelma (Browers) Gibbons.

Janet was baptized in the Baptist Church. She enjoyed going out to lunch with her mother, sister, and niece. She had fun going to resale shops with them when they were on their day trips. Janet loved her family, especially watching her nieces and nephews grow up. She liked to read and color, and she enjoyed listening to music. Janet was always ready to help others when needed. She was a beautiful person inside and out with a smile to match.

Janet is survived by two sisters: Jackie Cook and husband, Randy of Crystal City, Missouri, and Carla Cotner of Des Moines, Iowa, her sister-in-law: Roxanne Hood of Sullivan, Missouri, and five nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Janet was also preceded in death by her brother; Tom Hood, her sister; Patricia Brenham, and two nephews: James Nickelson and Christopher Hood.

Janet's family will hold a private celebration of life. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
