He was predeceased by : his parents, Thurman Curphey and Anabel Curphey (Pennebaker); his son Derek Curphey; his brother Alan Curphey; and his nieces, Sherry Sprague and Meredith Greene.

He is survived by : his wife Avis May Carr; his son Shane; his grandchildren, Samantha, Brayden and Abigail Curphey; his son Todd (Christina); his grandchildren, Jayssa, Ryan, Adin and Ava Curphey; and his sisters, Sheryl Paulus and Sandee Greene (Garvin). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
