She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy William and Minnie Acaleene Wiley (Huffman); her husband Lester Merritt; her grandson Jason Cox; her brother Bobby Wiley; and her half-siblings, Margery Gillett and John David Wiley.
She is survived by: her son Ike Cox; her stepdaughter Brenda Smith; her granddaughter Monica Cox; her great grandchildren, Quinton Cox, Tyler Pankau, Maggie Pankau, Tia Hunsucker and Sabrina Wonsetler; her great great grandchildren, Rhett Isaac Cox, Wyatt Hunsucker, Jaydon Wonsetler, Everly Grace Huffman, Celeste Hunsucker (Jean Hovey), Gary Taylor and Garland Taylor; and her stepsister Chlodean Smith.
