It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Mae Walter (Bethany, Missouri), who passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roberta Hoyt Shoemaker and Ernie Shoemaker; her grandmother Maimie; and her brother Randy Shoemaker. She is survived by: her husband Harold Walter (Joe); her sons, Scout, Greg (Becky), Chris (Andrea) and Doug (Debbie); her siblings, Lois Smith, Dan (Karen Robertson) of Bethany, Fred (Lora Robertson) of St Joseph and Larry (Karen Shoemaker) of Sacramento, CA.; her grandchildren, Kendall Walter Fox, John Spence, Taylor Walter, Spencer Walter, Hattie Walter Steffens, Peter Walter and Sam Walter; her great grandchildren, Makena McCall, Maddox McCall, Lennon Fox, Norah Fox, Frances Steffens, Sebastion Steffens, Tallula Steffens, CJ Walter, Lainey Walter and Jane Walter; Sam Webber.
The last few years have been difficult with declining health and Covid 19.
