He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Raymond and Clara Hassler (Brandt); and his siblings, Orville Hassler, Leoda Durbin, Juanita Wheeler, Shirley Jarvis and Norma Dean Shanks.

He is survived by: his brother James Hassler (Pete) of Osage Beach. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
