We bid farewell to Nora Janet Abernathy of Bland, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 5, 2025 at the age of 76. Nora touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dora Elvin and Flora Fanny Humphrey (Willson); her husband Jerry Don Abernathy; her brothers, Robert Humphrey, Harold Humphrey, William Humphrey and James Raymond Humphrey; and her siblings-in-law, Thea Humphrey, Janet Humphrey, Norbert and Don Luechtefeld (Thomas Laycock).
She is survived by: her sons, Paul Abernathy (Tammy) of Bland, Scot Abernathy (Mary) of Bland and Todd Abernathy (Jennifer) of Grey Summit; her grandchildren, Lorna, Nicholas, Gage of Katlynn, J. D. and Gabe; her siblings, Roy Humphrey (Joyce) of Cuba, Marilyn Luechtefeld of Vienna and Jane Luechtefeld of Beaufort; and her sister-in-law Arlene Humphrey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sassmann's Chapel - Belle (207 Linn St, Belle, MO 65013). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Francis Cemetery.
