He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Dodson and Delma Dodson (Potts); and his grandson Brandon Webb. He is survived by: his wife Donna Dodson of Blue Springs, MO; his children, Debbie Estes (Jay) of Gravois Mills, MO, Laurie Ross (Tom Hadley) of Raytown, MO, Tracy Parent of Temple, TX, Julie Lobb (Tommy) of Turney, MO, Sam Luttrell (Pam) of Blue Springs, MO, Traci Osterberger of Platte City, MO and Bryan Luttrell (Julie) of Shawnee, KS; and his brothers, Jim Dodson (Felicia) of Lee's Summit, MO, Ernie Dodson (Maureen) of Branson, MO and Dallas Dodson (Syma) of Chicago, IL.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Elks Lodge for Christmas baskets.
