He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarold R. Brookshire and Zeva I. Brookshire (Smith); his wife Mary Brookshire (McQuillen); his sister Denise Langley; and his son-in-law Michael Drury.

He is survived by: his children, Debra Drury of Blue Springs, MO and Jarold Brookshire II (Amy) of Chesterfield, MO; his grandchildren, Mary Taggart (Josh), Alexander Drury, Abby Brookshire and Ethan Brookshire; his great grandchildren, Eli Taggart and Nathan Taggart; and his niece Cheryl Langley.
