He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Gaherty and Margaret Gaherty (O'Rourke); and his siblings, Frances Gaherty, Mary K. Gaherty and Patrick Gaherty.
He is survived by: his son Michael (Kathryn); his grandson Colin Gaherty of Lee's Summit, MO; and his brother Bernard "Barney" Gaherty of Clinton, IL..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Meyers Funeral Chapel (1600 W Main St, Blue Springs, MO 64015). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the same location.
