He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart Smith and Emma Elizabeth Smith (Stilley); his brother Steve Smith; and his stepmother Arzetta Smith. He is survived by: his wife Blenda Smith of Lake Lotawana, MO; his daughters, Erin Bovee (Josh) of Lee's Summit, MO and Heather Heron (Bill) of Blue Springs, MO; his niece Cheryl Reeves (Jimmy) of Parkville, MO; his grandchildren, Abigail Bovee, Oliver Bovee, Lachlan Heron, Kai Heron, Ethan Bachlund and Anna Backlund; his brothers, John Smith (Arlene), Stanley Smith-Hanes (Phil) of Salina, KS, Mark Smith of Independence, MO and Timothy Smith (Nandee) of Rolla, MO; and his stepbrothers, Gary Rose (Danielle) and Steve Rose (Kimberly).
