She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Banks and Marie Banks (Gilliam); her husband Bob Burgess; and her siblings, Walter "Sonny" Banks (Dottie), Billy Banks, Rick Banks and Nate Rawlings.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Burgess, Becky Unger (Mark), Brad Burgess (Altha) and Bart Burgess (Kathy); her grandchildren, Rachel Burgess, Bradley Burgess (Brittanie), Matthew Burgess, Benjamin Unger (Leticia), Bailey Fields (Nick), Sarah Burgess, Anne Marie Unger and Mykah; her stepgrandson Heath Rawlins; her siblings, Wanda Compton (Danny), Ronnie Banks (Grace) and Alvin Banks; and her sisters-in-law, Kathy and Jan Banks. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church (7422 Stormy Ln, Bonne Terre, MO 63628). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church (7422 Stormy Ln, Bonne Terre, MO 63628).
