With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert Gilliland of Bonne Terre, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert left this world on August 7, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert George and Clara Lucille Gilliland, Sr. (Arnold); his former wife Sandra Gilliland (Maurer); his wife Nedra Gilliland; and his brother-in-law L. J. Miller.
He is survived by: his children, George Gilliland (Julie), Gaylynn Eads (David) and Gary Gilliland (Helen); his stepson Greg Maurer; his grandsons, Dylan Gilliland, Garan Gilliland, Chance Gilliland, Colten Gilliland (Tara), Cord Counts (Trish) and Clayton Counts; his great grandchildren, Viviene, Scarlett, Everly and Violet; and his siblings, Barbara Miller, Brenda Berghaus (Roy), Bonita Mahurin (Butch) and Bruce Gilliland (Patti). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Desloge Chapel (1116 N Desloge Dr, Desloge, MO 63601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Bob's memory.
