He was predeceased by: his father Thomas W. Marlen; his son-in-law Eric Walters; his grandson Scotty McPherson Jr.; his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Marlen and Sen Marlen; and his half-brother Charles Marlen.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick "Rich" Carr Jr. (Shannon) of Union, Jamie Walters-Seamon (Anthony) of Washington, Christopher Carr (Elizabeth) of Union, Scott McPherson (Michelle) of St. Louis and Dyanna Riebold of St. Charles; his siblings, Diane (late Charles Marlen), Rosalie Marlen Schele, Thomas Marlen (Tomi), Mary Marlen Sapp, Richard Marlen, Robert Marlen and Michael Carr (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Ethan Carr, Olivia Carr, Alex Walters, Rylie Seamon, Nicholas Burnett, Samuel Carr, Scott Corrigan, Nicole Rorick (Brian), Maegan McPherson, Alyssa Paul and Patricia Paul; and his great grandchildren, Lorelei, Emma, Layla, Bennett, Jameson, Kaleb and Karter. He is also survived by other relatives, and friends.
Memorial donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses, or to the Franklin County Humane Society.
