She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Pyrtle and Golda Pyrtle (Dinkins); her son Ronald Sweeney III; and her siblings, Melba Cox, Wilma Hill, Barbara Brooks, Shirley Ann Pyrtle, Marion Alfred Pyrtle, Fred Pyrtle, Wilbur Pyrtle, James Pyrtle and Junior Pyrtle.

She is survived by: her husband Ron; her children, Lori McNabb of Bryson City, NC and Michael Sweeney (Kathy) of Bourbon, MO; her grandchildren, McKenzie Quillen (James) of Hayesville, NC and Spencer McNabb (Taylor) of Golden, CO; and her great grandchildren, L. J. and Paisley. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
