He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Lyle Erwin and Helen Erwin (Spurgeon); his brother Leroy Erwin; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Haley, Miles, Meredith and Matthew Elmore.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Erwin (Chandler); his grandchildren, Suzanne, Michael Elmore (Mason) of Kirksville, Stephanie, Michael Jones (Shane) of Kirksville, Mandy, Travis Gray (Kennedy) of Brashear, Ashlee Erwin, Jeff Neu (Jake) of St. Louis, Zachary and Jessica Erwin (Audrey) of Brashear; his siblings, Larry Erwin of Kirksville, Don Erwin (Brenda) of Kirksville, Bob Erwin of Colorado, Sharon Erwin Fehr and Joyce Erwin McVay (Gerald) of Kirksville; and his sister-in-law Barb Erwin of Brashear. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
