He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clinton and Lucille Byrn (Ambrosia); his former wife Darlene Droke; his daughter-in-law Taira Byrn; and his wife Patty Newman Coy.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Byrn (Dawn) of Greentop, MO, Steven Byrn of Kirksville, MO, Cindy Van Jaarsveldt (Gareth) of Shady Shores, TX, Lisa Athon (Robert) of Green Castle, MO, Lora Robinson (Robert) of New Bloomfield, MO, Justin Coy (Megan) of LaPlata, MO and Jennifer Wayne (Marc) of Lee's Summit, MO.; and his sister Betty Thomas (Jerry) of Kirksville, MO. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Parkview Memorial Gardens. A graveside service was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel Community Church in Jerry's honor.
