He was predeceased by: his parents, George Raymond, Sr. and Gladys Irene Johnston (Jones); his children, Joe Johnston and Sherry Key (Billy); and his sister Janet Irene Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Maylene Johnston; his daughter Shelly Salisbury of Hamilton, Missouri; his grandson Ethan Johnston (Clara) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; his great grandchildren, Grayson Joseph Johnston and Georgia "Georgie" May Johnston; and his siblings, Ernest Richard Johnston (Jeanette) of Marshfield, Missouri and Linda Louise Shipley (Henry) of Breckenridge, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
