He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hargrave and Katie Ellen Hargrave (May); his in-laws, Kenneth and Louise Hedrick; and his granddaughter Myra Kate Savage.

He is survived by: his children, Aaron Hargrave (Elizabeth) of Springfield, Missouri, Kerry Savage of Chillicothe and Ellie Bishop of Springfield, Missouri; his grandchildren, Parker, Clayton Savage, Eli, Evie, Henry Hargrave and Brooklyn Bishop; his brother James R. Hargrave (Karen) of Warrensburg, Missouri; and his sisters-in-law, Belinda Hedrick of Carrollton and Terehea Strider (Mike) of Hardin, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
