He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer George Sherwood and Mahala Evelyn Sherwood (Kille); his great grandchild Avery Naylor; his brother Larry Sherwood; his brothers-in-law, Gary Maxwell and Steve Hudson; and his parents-in-law, Dean Maxwell, Ona Maxwell and Virginia Maxwell.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Maxwell; his children, Doug Bivens of Ashland, Stephannie Mills (Les) of New Boston and Jason Sherwood (Holly Henderson); his grandchildren, Katie Naylor (Chris) of Salisbury, Kassie Wright (Spencer) of Keytesville, Albert Sherwood (Haley) and Jonathan Sherwood of Wellsville, Missouri; his great grandchildren, Ridley Naylor, Evelyn Wright and Keyton Naylor; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Sherwood, Judy Maxwell and Barbara Hudson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bear Branch Church (17238 Inlet Dr, Purdin, MO 64674). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Bear Branch Expansion Fund.
