He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vincent and Josephine Sayer (Alexander); his parents-in-law, Bill and Verna Burns; his stepson Jason Dyer; his grandson J. P. Smith; his siblings, Bob Sayer, Donald "Preach" Sayer, Terry Sayer (Dawn) and Edith Bartlett; and his brother-in-law Steve Burns (Candice).
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Sayer; his stepsons, Shawnne Smith Sr. of Spokane, William "Bill" Smith (Tina) of Gridley and Dwight "Butch" Richard Dyer III (Tiffany) of Linneus; his grandchildren, Shawnne Smith Jr., Michael Smith, Jennifer Smith, Tyler Smith, Nathaniel Dyer, Riley and Levi Dyer; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Sayer and Eddie Burns (Sheilia). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
