She was predeceased by : her husband Bernie Payne; her granddaughter Brianna Brightman; her parents, Roger Wagner and Verna Wagner; her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Wilhelmina-Juliana Payne; her brother Gerald; and her siblings-in-law, Edward Payne, Orville Payne (Kathy) and Evelyn Davis.

She is survived by : her children, Jonathan Payne (Kimberly), David Payne (Shantelle) and Joanna Brightman (Benjamin); her grandchildren, Kristin Strupp (Jody), Jessica Leptien (Ron), Moriah Clark (Alex), Jaxon Payne, Shaalim Payne and Simone Brightman; her great grandchildren, Greyson Clark, Hayden Clark and Brixton Clark; her siblings, Lois Wagner, Mike Wagner (Claire) and Kim Wagner (Mary); and her brothers-in-law, Larry Payne (Kathy) and Roger Payne (Cindy).

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grace Church (4200 E 25th St, Des Moines, IA 50317). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
