He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Shelton and Georgia M. Shelton (Mills); his wife Betty Ann Shoemaker; his great grandchild Coy Miller; and his sisters, Nelda Ensminger and Nina Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his children, James Ronald Shelton (Janet) of Bucklin and Karen Lynn Payne (David) of Kearney; and his siblings, Joe Shelton (Jane) of Polo, Cora Etta Bowers (Gene) of Holt, Nadine Heriford (Art) of Cameron and Jerry Thomason (Benny) of Excelsior Springs. He is also survived by five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
