He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil B. Hayes and Flossie Hayes (Vance); his children, Wayne Hayes and Nancy Canon; and his brother Charles Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Zena Pearl Swanigan; his daughter Lola (Brian Ainley); and his children-in-law, Allen Canon and Brenda Stephens. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home - Buffalo (931 W Main St, Buffalo, MO 65622). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
