It is with sadness that the passing of Opal Linda Swanigan of Buffalo, Missouri is shared. Opal, born on July 29, 1945, passed away on September 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Sutton and Ruby Sutton; and her siblings, Glenn Sutton, Charlie Sutton, Bernita Smith and Barbara Gruber.
She is survived by: her husband Sidney Eugene Swanigan; her children, Loretta Turner (Burley) of Long Lane, Michael Swanigan (Angela) of Holts Summit, Cheryl Spang (Dack) of Columbia and Jennifer Scott (Matthew) of Jefferson City; her grandchildren, Brandon, Rachel, Dustin, Derrick, Paige, Erin, Casey, Alan, Stephanie, Alexander and Elizabeth; and her great grandchildren, Beatrix, Florence, Oliva, Andrew, Elouise, Hezekiah and Aurora.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home - Buffalo (931 W Main St, Buffalo, MO 65622). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mission Ridge Cemetery Fund.
