He was predeceased by: his parents, James Daniel and Edith Rebecca Palm Eckert; his son Dan Eckert; and his siblings, Virginia Mizner, Frank Eckert, Robert Eckert and Marjorie Henley.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Eckert of Butler, Missouri; his children, Liesa Scrogham (Charles) of Butler, Missouri and David Eckert (Kathy) of Harrisonville, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Mallory, David, Nick and Ethan. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (1301 N Orange St, Butler, MO 64730). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
